I have a class that i need to list some companies that use wind power as their source on energy. So if you know or, think that you work uses wind, or if you know what does use wind please post the companies name[s]!

I also want to stay off the electric grid . It would cost an additional ten thousand dollars to be hooked into it and I want to be independant from utilities. Would solar panels and batteries power lights and T.V , computer , washer dryer ect.

TV, lights and small appliances, yes. Washer, maybe. Dryer, not likely unless it's gas - consider a clothesline. Electric range or oven, no. Hot tub, no unless it's converted to a gas heater.

The raw panels are about $3-8 per watt. So for 6Kw figure about $18k for the panels. The charger/inverter and batteries, figure $2-3k more. Figure about $30k including the installation.

You might also consider a generator. The off-grid houses I've seen tend to have them, even if they have batteries too. Add $3k for that.

Do you have a creek? Consider small-scale hydro too.

Also where I can inquire here in the Philippines (NCR) about the installation of Solar Power Energy?

I would not bother… You will not get your money back on the savings……….

Wind power- no chance of meltdown; less people to manage; no waster
Nuclear- more power; more efficient; more reliable; better overall

I have a science fair coming up and I need to know how wind power relate to life science.

wind is related to life science because wind power creates energy and energy is what makes the world work now days. Also the wind helps life by moving spores which come from some plants, and if the spores fly then land it will grow a new plant life. also oxygen and wind to keep us cool when it is humid or hot. wind helps nature, human kind, animals and different types of life. so i guess since it helps life it's a part of life. oh! a clouds too.
P.S. i at least sould get some credit if you us this info.

I am considering getting solar power for my house. Does anybody have an appox idea how much it would cost to fit my house with this. We just have a typical 3 bedroom house. I have also heard that if your solar panels produce more energy than what you use, it will go back into the power grid, and the energy company will pay you. Is this right? If so any ideas on how much you get back?Thanks

The amount you get back (and yes if you put power back into the grid they will pay you) depends exactly how much you put back, either way, the power company will be paying you and some money is better than no money.

Solar modules come in two distinct categories - crystalline silicon and amorphous silicon thin film. Both amorphous and crystalline technologies are commonly used in efficient grid connected and stand alone installations.

Mono and poly crystalline modules usually have 36 solar cells in a 9 x 4 matrix connected in series to provide an output voltage suitable for battery charging. A typical module will provide a peak power output voltage of 17V and output current of 4.7A under optimum conditions, giving a rating of 80 Watts peak (Wp). Modules can be connected in series or parallel to form an array to provide higher voltage and current outputs as required.

Crystalline solar modules are covered with tempered glass on top and a tough ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) material at
the back. The glass and backing material protect the solar cells from moisture.

The best way to find out is contacting environmental groups or even the power company themselves. Costs vary, and so this is an issue that is best left when you find the appropriate group.
