I have full, step-by-step instructions for making a solar panel. You only need less than 100$ for making it. And get 100wats from each panel. Imagine amount of money you can save!

I read an article …
I read an article in home power magazine that said when purchasing solar panels beware since the panels are as good as the manufacturer should a problem arise the investor can be out all investments in the panels where as if you buy from a reputable well known maker they will warranty the panels for about 20 years. A solid company will have the clout to back up such warranty.Cheap now may be broken later.

Thanks for this …
Thanks for this tip-off, I had no idea such a kit was available for such a low price. When finances permit I’m going to get one for my garage which at the moment has no power and light source.

what would you suggest for an inverter to run a desktop computer(monitor, speakers)?

nice vid!!!!!

THANK YOU:-)
I would suggest a Pure Sine inverter that is 300-500 watts. If your monitor is a flat screen, that would make a big difference. Search Ebay for a “KILL O WATT” meter. Plug everything into the device and then into your outlet. This will tell you how many watts your system is running Be sure to crank everything up. Buy 20% over what the meter says you are pulling for Pure Sine and 50% over if you buy a Modified Sine inverter Usually only Pure Sine will state that. Others are Modified

One more thing. …
One more thing. Some electronic devices will not work on a Modified Sine inverter. Also many are listed as 750 watt / 1500 watt as an example. The lower number is the one you want to use. The higher number is for load starting. Pure Sine is the safe choice. Walmart and Lowes carry Modified Sine inverters so if you want to test it out, do so with caution.

Thank you for …
Thank you for posting this video. Currently I have this same system and I have two six vol golf batteries conected in series and then connected in parallel with a 12v deep cicle. I also have one 700 watt inverter and I am running a desktop computer and a 13″ tv, and charging my mobile phone as well and with the small controller am running the two 5 watt lights and a sirius radio from the cigarret lighter. and it runns for about seven to eight hours a day. planning to add a air turbine latter.

thanks for the video. i had been cosidering buying this kit from harbor freight, now i am sure i will. i have a plan to use it to power a home made hydrogen cell to use less gasoline in a car.
.. by the way, 45 watts at 12 volts is 3.75 amps (P/E=I)

They are good systems. The company rates each panel at 1.5 amps. Thanks for the information.

Dan, great video. …
Dan, great video. Very informative, I had been wondering about those panels from harbor freight. My first solar project, I would like to take on, is to convert an attic vent fan to some panels. What % of watts should I go beyond what is needed to power it and can this be done. I feel this is a great place to start with solar due to it bringing down my electric bill in 2 ways. Thanks again.

I’ve had the Harbor …
I’ve had the Harbor Freight system 3 months now and use it to charge 3 cell phones, a shaver, a flashlight and to power a phone/ answering mach. I also have a 115 amphr deepcycle battery. So far it seems like I’m under utilizing the system. The charge controller cycles off and on all afternoon.
The trick seems to be to eliminate the wall power adapters and to put things on solar. Try not to use an inverter but, buy a car chargers or make up a cord and plug it into the Harbor Freight panel.

I hooked up a RC Car, a Solar Panel ( from harbor Freight ) and a batter backup system up todeather. worked well intill it caught on fire… the case for the light backup thing was metal and my wire wasnt like heatsinked or anything and to wires like + and + or smthing were touching and it started smoking. lol

Thanks for putting these up. I’ve been getting interested in solar, but I don’t have the know how. I have some the conceptual science figured out, but applying it’s a different game. I’ts very nice of you, what you’re doing. There’s so much potential in solar power.

Below are a few videos on that topic. My experience with steam; it is better to boil small amounts verses a large tank volume as too much heat is lost with a bigger volume. A 30×40 Fresnel lens can evaporate 64 ounces an hour under good conditions and almost 1 gallon an hour under optimal conditions with a trough booster. Under pressure all figures are 1/2.

How about this …
How about this folks? Paint a boiler tank black, set in the sun and use fresnel lenses and mirrors to concentrate the suns energy evenly to the bottom of the tank so that a boil can be obtained. Once the boil is obtained you can now draw raw horsepower from your boiler to run a steam-engine driving a generator. Possible? From what I have seen from demonstrations of the parabolic and fresnel lenses I think that this will be completed with ease. God bless and have a good day.

Green? How about …
Green? How about the lead and acid in the battery, plus the energy it takes to produces the panels? How much (poluting) energy it costs to produce solar panels?

But still, I do encourage the use of green energy, and think there should be more research done for cleaner/lower production costs per watt.

IMO every roof should be covered with solar panels and all energy should be durable/sustainable. Maybe the industry could focus on buffering instead of producing.

Nice system, check out mine. I have added two more 6v batteries for a total of 8 since I did my video. I run all of my lights at night and a 19″ color TV for about 4 hours a night and I use around 25% of my battery capacity.

This week, I have …
This week, I have had to sit out for a bit. TS FAY and Hurricane GUSTAV, no sun. Before that we had 80+ days of clouds. Craziest summer I have ever seen. The panels work with clouds but I cannot demonstrate the full voltage potential so it might confuse some people. 91 DAYS and 84 hours of direct sunlight.
