Wondered if anyone knew how to build a simple homemade wind generator to power our home? A homemade wind generator that is not too complicated would be good. Do you know how to build a wind generator? Please help us.Thanks

I just moved into a split level home in a suburb of Chicago. I was thinking of either installing solar panels or horizontal wind turbines on the roof of my porch. Any help in finding companies for this would be appreciated, I am more interested in wind then solar being that Chicago is pretty far north (little sun in the winter) and known for our wind.

The wind noise from the moon roof is irritating on the highway, particularly in the tilt up position. Seems that it doesn’t open much. The noise is a high pitched hum. With the moonroof rolled back the noise is lower pitched but just as irritating.

How to estimate the energy of wind turbine?
how do i estimate the annual energy output of a 5kw wind turbine in an area which has a average wind speed of 7.4m/s at 10m above ground level, and the rated wind speed of the turbine is 10m/s. there is no buildins around to interfear with the wind and the hub of turbine is 12m above ground level. and could you show me the formula for this sum.

Not including the green jobs the free market has already taken into account.
Wind energy costs 25% more than coal. In essence our energy productivity will go down by 25%.
Whenever has productivity going down created jobs?
Do not give me the foreign oil, the only time foreign oil is used in energy production is for peeker plants. Wind can not replace that.
As an engineer I like the idea of power and all kinds of power. Also as an engineer I can not see a more expensive means creating jobs.

I need to find out how much energy 1 average sized, (preferably british), nuclear power plant will produce comapred to wind farms and other renewable sources of energy. Or how many of each type of renewable energy station (e.g how many wind farms) will be needed to produce the power of one average nuclear plant. I need the answers by sunday night please! Thank you!

I am wanting to have a wind turbine/wind mill for my home to supplement or replace the grid electricity I use. I see that the winds come and go. So I need to store some amount of the electricity that my wind mill makes. What is the best and safest battery I can use? What is its cost? How much energy will it store? What recharge rate does it need? Thanks.

In this short video series we will explore the basics of setting up an alternate energy system. What each component does, how it functions and it’s place in an off grid system. Designed specifically for the homesteader or survivalist, this video is designed to help get you started on your road to energy independence!

The system shown runs a house approximately 1,500 sq. feet plus intermittant lighting and tool use on a couple of outbuildings. The house uses LP gas for water heater and cook stove. Everything else except AC is ran off this system.

No matter what your preparing for: nuclear war, terrorism, economic collapse, market crash, food shortages, famine, etc. Having a working Alternate energy system can help greatly around your homestead or survival retreat.

There is one section of this video that has poor lighting, this could not be helped. If your looking for Spielberg cinematography, you came to the wrong place! We know the lighting is bad in that part, no need for immature comments regarding this. If you don’t like, don’t watch!
